Nov. 30 Electronic Courier

It’s been a busy week at the Ridge!  It’s hard to believe that it is December! Just a reminder that we revert back to 2:25 pm dismissal starting tomorrow!

Everyone should have received progress reports in courier today.  Our next school conference night is January 23.  If you need to meet with your child’s teacher(s) about their progress report before that time, please reach out to them via email to schedule a meeting.

Tomorrow is our next community assembly where we honor our students who had a birthday in November, the students with perfect attendance in November, and our students of the month.  All staff members are able to nominate a student of the month who they believe exemplifies our character trait for the month.  In November we talked about what it means to show gratitude.  For our assembly tomorrow, we are asking students to wear a t-shirt to support their favorite cause or organization they are grateful for whether it is an organization that brings awareness to cause, an organization they are thankful for, or an organization that supports our community.  Our character education word for December is Generosity meaning making someone’s day by giving something away.  We will be doing a school-wide sock drive.  Please see the attached for further information.  Sock Drive

Next week, December 6, we will be having STEM parent night from 6pm-7pm!  Childcare will be available!  For more information check out the attached flyer!    STEM Parent Night   If you attended our November parent night, please complete our follow-up survey.  https://tinyurl.com/LREParentNov

Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, our Principal’s Advisory Council meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 12 at 4:00pm in the Media Center.

Don’t forget that our end of semester winter parties will be on Wednesday, December 20 at 1:30 pm.  Your room parent or teacher will be in touch with additional details!

Thank you to everyone that came to the parent event tonight at LRE!  It is always great to see families come back for evening events.

Next week is the annual Thanksgiving luncheon.  Please see the flyer for additional details: Thanksgiving Luncheon

The book fair opens tomorrow and is open all next week!  The book fair is open before school and afterschool!  It will also be open during Fall Festival on Saturday from 10:30-2:30!  Come join the fun!  For more information on Fall Festival visit our PTA website: http://www.laurelridgeelementarypta.org/  or the event Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/823489334478508/

Note from PTA about the Fall Festival and Bookfair:
Our Fall Festival and Book Fair are almost upon us.  We are so excited about the wonderful vendors who will be there (think Holiday Shopping!!) and the fabulous activities available for our children.
These annual events do so much for Laurel Ridge: fundraise, create family fun, and engage!  For some in our community, its their first opportunity to visit our school and meet LRES staff and families.  Our little school has gained in reputation and is looked upon as a great school (as it should be!)  More than anything it is the People who make it a great place to be.
Many people have signed up (Thank You!) but we need many more.  Often times we have people come up on the day of the event and ask, “how can I help?”  I’m asking you today to visit the Sign Up Genius for the event and sign up Before the day of the event.  Though I believe in You and I know You will be there to pitch in, I would be so very grateful if you would lighten our load by Signing Up Today!  It’s not hard, you’ll have fun, and you’ll show your children and our community at large what a great school with great staff and parents look-like.  Any amount of time you can give to us will be helpful!
Do you know any teenagers in need of volunteer hours? Elders who would like to get out of the house?  Invite them to sign-up too!
