It’s hard to believe that it is time for the last courier of 2017! It’s been a great first semester with much more to come next semester! We hope to see many of you next Wednesday for Winter Parties in the classrooms starting at 1:30. If you are coming to the end of the semester celebrations, please be mindful our neighbors when parking so that we are not parking illegally or blocking intersections or driveways.
Last call for the LRE Sock Drive for the homeless in honor of our character education theme for December, Generosity! The flyer with more information can be found here: sock drive I’m excited to share that our students have written over 160 letters for Operation Gratitude since we challenged them in November for our Character Education word, Gratitude.
If you find your family needs some help with food over the holidays, the Toco Hills Community Alliance (http://www.tocohillsalliance.org/) is open Monday – Thursday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm without appointments. You can also reach out to the Atlanta Community Food Bank at 404-892-3333 or use the help finder at https://acfb.org/find-help If you need assistance with other things such as clothing, you can call the United Way “First Call for Help” line at 2-1-1 for referrals to agencies that may be able to assist you and your family.

The school district recently retested the water sources at LRE. Following an initial comprehensive evaluation and repair of any affected drinking water sources at LRE, DCSD is pleased to announce that the results reveal no presence of lead at or above the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) action level of 15 parts per billion (ppb).
